The problem happened with an upgrade from glibc 2.1.1 to 2.1.2. If you grab the relevant files from /lib of a machine that hasn't been upgraded, and put them in your Office51/lib dir, then SO51 looks there for the libs and works. The files you need are all the -2.1.1.so files - after the upgrade you will have -2.1.2.so files.
