  Thanks Andrei,
  xvidtune did verify monitor was being run in the proper specs.
However, I had inadvertantly started a couple of processes that were
eating
up cpu processing capacity. So I'm guessing this caused the noise. But
xvidtune was a excellant program thanks again   Dean
