ftp

Hi,

It seems that I have a difficulty in setting up ftpd on an Intel machine. 
On a SunClassic, it was OK. I think I have followed all the steps in "man
in.ftpd", but the following is what I usually get:

okidz:~$ ftp localhost
Connected to localhost.
220- hi, wassup?
220 okidz.pindad.co.id FTP server (Version 6.2/OpenBSD/Linux-0.10) ready.
Name (localhost:okidz): okidz
550 Authentication failure
Login failed.
ftp> 

That's it; no prompt for entering password. 
Is this problem related to PAM?
