Problems with qvwm

Hi all,

Has anyone gotten qvwm working?

I have been trying to get it working from source or rpm
since July with no success.  When I saw that we now have 
a .deb, I thought I would have better luck, but it's the
same as the last time I compiled it myself.

Here's what the problems are:

- if I have just "qvwm" in my .xsession, then x starts 
and all I get is the basic X grey background with a mouse 
cursor.  Meanwhile, qvwm is repeatedly spawning xbiff,
xeyes and xload.  After a minute the X server crashes.

- if I have "qvwm -n" in my .xsession, that solves the 
infinite spawning problem, but the rest is the same - 
no window manager then X crashes.

Qvwm apparently is running in debug mode, as I get some
gdm output when the server crashes.  Here it is:
