Running potato on an i386 (been there since Aug.)
Now I am seeing the following errors:

dpkg (subprocess): unable to execute post-installation script: Permission

It doesnt matter what package I try to install, it's always the same.
Dpkg yeilds this:
penguin:/var/cache/apt/archives/fucked# dpkg -C
The following packages are in a mess due to serious problems during
installation. They must be reinstalled for them (and any packages
that depend on them) to function properly:
imlib-base Common files needed by the Imlib/Gdk-Imlib packages
libgtk1.2-dev Development files for the GIMP Toolkit
gconv-modules GNU C Library: Codeset conversion modules
libc6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and timezone data
libglib1.2 The GLib library of C routines
libc6-dev GNU C Library: Development libraries and header files.
libgtk1.2 The GIMP Toolkit set of widgets for X
libglib1.2-dev Development files for GLib library
The following packages are only half configured, probably due to problems

dpkg --configure <package> or the configure menu option in dselect:
enlightenment-theme-bluesteel The BlueSteel theme for E
debconf Debian configuration management system
The following packages are only half installed, due to problems during
installation. The installation can probably be completed by retrying it;
the packages can be removed using dselect or dpkg --remove:
tetex-base basic teTeX library files
enlightenment-nosound The Enlightenment Window Manage
Apt is hosed, dselect is hosed, dpkg is hosed. Is there any way to recover? Do
I reinstall just like Windows ;) or is there a way to regain the integrity of
the dpkg database?
