Re: /var/log/ppp.log stays empty

No it doesn't.  I put in my slink CD, fired up Emacs with
deb-view.el to edit deb file contents, and looked at the
/etc/syslog.conf file in the package sysklogd_1.3-31.deb, and
there are _no_ ppp entries.
