poff makes X hang

Hi all,

I have a strange problem I haven't seen before.
When I type poff
my machine hangs. ctrl-alt-del doesn't work ctrl-alt-[<---]
doesn't work. All I can do is pressing the button to reboot.

If I instead kills the pppd process the machine reboots
when my connection is closed.

some syslog messages:

This have started when I compiled and used 2.3.22 I have the following in the
kernel.

PPP(point-to-point protocol) support
PPP support for async serial ports
PPP Deflate compression

I am using a LASAT K56 external modem.

Anyone got any ideas?

Best regards
Joakim Svensson
