The standard way is to say
nslookup <ip address>
The DNS is the system which is used to map text-form machine names (eg,
"lists.debian.org") onto the IP addreses which are what the computers
actually use to talk to each other. It also stores other information
such as information about which machines handle mail for a given
destination.
