Subject: SoundCard&Kernel: Problem

I managed to get my SoundCard to work, by loading
the sound module (with modconf) and configuring the isapnp.conf file. Then
I rebooted my computer and ,surprisingly, the booting of the modules
hampered when it tried to load the sound module, so I was stuck in the
middle of the booting process. I can still boot
my computer with a floppy, but this is not ideal. How can I (manually) fix
this problem ?
