There are some perl issues right now in unstable that can really bork
things up. Try:

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get clean

after changing your /etc/apt/sources.list to point to unstable.


rather than apt-get dist-upgrade

The dist-upgrade may cause a lot of packages to be removed that depend on
perl.
