Re: Tab Tab program/command line editing
It's not a bug, its a feature.
It's called command completion. The (bash) shell is trying to help you
out by finishing off your typing for you.
If you don't like it, use a different shell. Zsh has command completion
as well, but pressing <tab><tab> does nothing. I think the equivalent
for zsh is ctrl-d. I don't know about any of the other shells.
