mySQL: where to start?

Hi,
	I will need to use mySQL to log some stuff into the database, and later on, retrieve the info using 
	a unique primay key. Probably, one table will be enough :(, but all these queries are manipulated
	by a C program.

	I have searched the debian web, and there are so many mySQL packages. Which ones do I need to install
	to meet my above requirement?
