The following works for me, with apt apt_0.3.3:

timshel:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://www.debian.org/~jim/debian-gtk-gnome/gnome-stage-slink unstable
main
deb file:/usr/local/src/debian stable contrib main non-free non-US
deb file:/usr/local/src/debian-local local local
