According to xfree86.org Matrox cards are the best-accelerated, but it
makes no mention that I could find specifically about 3D acceleration. S3
virge, on the other hand, is listed as having 3D supported "in a future
release"
ATI, on the other hand, seems to be still in the position of refusing to
support their own hardware. :/
