I have a sparc 1 (equal to about a 386) running Debian potato with 12megs of
RAM and on an 80meg drive (50 being used). Linux runs perfectly fine on old
hardware. Just because Netscape is bloated, does not mean the system is (ie,
Netscape's install would increase the footprint of that system on the hardrive
by about %50). The only thing the server does it web and ssh. No X, no comiles, etc.. It does server as a shell for a few people to get email and irc though.
