gIDE make error

Hi all,
        I have installed the necessary files for gIDE-0.1.1 (they are
glib-1.2.0, gtk+1.2.0 and
guile-1.3).
        When I go to make, it compliants about

        cd . && aclocal -I macros
        aclocal : configure.in: 9: macro 'AM_PATH_GTK' not found in
        library
        make: ***[aclocal.m4] Error 1

        What does that mean ? Any pointers ? or links to FAQ about
gIDE ?
