Yes, No go.
I replaced the kernel with one compiled for ESDI / MCA.
Goes further. It seems to talk to the disk controller, but I cannot
interpret the error messages to decide if they are genuine errors.
The installation still does not "see" the hard disk and offer fdisk.
I can switch consoles. There were no /dev/eda devices. I created
these, but still the installation would not recognise the disk.
