I started downloading potato this morning, with apt. A while ago, when I had 1 hour or so of downloading left, KDE locks up, but the download continues for a while. I had to reboot the machine from my laptop and started the entire process again and I get a very pleasant surprise. Apt-get does not start over, but picks up right where it left off.
