Is this egcs-g++ from a slink package? It did strike me as
odd that the egcc --version and g++ --version on my
system differ.

Seems like this is the most likely reason for the segfault.
I wonder why my ldd didn't collect this lib automatically.
I'll try a newer g++ .deb
