It looks like you're set to lp1, re-run magicfilterconfig --force

huh? I thought you said that you were set to lp0? When I first installed
slink, I could have sworn that the printer was on lp1 (that's been the
case with each dist I've used). When I upgraded to a 2.2 kernel, I
needed to switch it to lp0.
