Problems to set up a NFS-server

Hi all,

I have problems to install a NFS-server in a Linux-only local
intranet: kernel 2.2.1 w. NFS compiled; nfs-server_2.2beta37-1.deb
installed, looks ok; /etc/exports file edited.

When I say 'rpcinfo -p',the mountd, nfsd and portmapper look up as
usual, but when I say 'rpcinfo -u (or -t) localhost 100003', nothing
happens a while, and then RPC times out.

When I repeat the last commands some times, it can happen that the
program suddenly appears ..., but when I try to mount the exported dir
from a workstation, RPC times out again.

Clueless,
joachim
