Problems with my HD

Hello everyone,

I used Fdisk which showed me this below, and would like to know if someone
can tell me what cause's this type of a problem, and how to eliminate it
from
happening again...

My HD is a Western Digital 6.4gb drive...

/dev/hda: 784 cyls, 255 heads,  63 sectors
units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

device Boot Begin start End Blocks ID System
/dev/hda1 *        1            1        17       131323+  6  Dos16-bit>=32M
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary:
phys = (16,89,63) should be  (16,254,63)

/dev/hda2 *        17         17       101      674730    83 Linux native
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary:
phys - (101,89,65)  should be (100,254,63)

/dev/hda3          101        101       114    104422+    82 Linux Swap
Partition 3 does not end on cylinder boundary:
phys = (113,89,63)  should be  (113,254,63)

This was the same for /dev/hda4, but the rest were shown like this...

/dev/hda5          114         114      369    2048256    83 Linux native
/dev/hda6          369        369      624    2048256   83         "
/dev/hda7          624        624      700    610438+    83        "
/dev/hda8          700        700      738    305203+    83        "

Dmesg: Showed this hda: wdc #xxxx, 6149mb w/256 cache, chs=784/255/63

In CMOS setup, I do have Normal, LBA, and Large, using LBA and have cmos
auto detect the HD, it comes up with this...

Options Size Cyls Heads Precomp Landzone Sectors Mode
1 (y)       101  13328   15       65535       13327       63    Normal
2           101     784   255          0             "           63    LBA
3           101    6664    30      65535         "            63    Large

So I choose option #2

Any comments on the above as to why this has happened would be
appreicated...

Thanks...
