Try DAT or DLT tapes. SCSI tapes are supported on Linux and packages such
as Amanda or better BURT (not sure if there is a Debian BURT package yet)
allow you to even handle DLT robots.
I know BURT has robot support and THINK that Amanda does. Overall, BURT
is probably better.
WIth the tape robots, they can autochange when a tape is full. The
removeable disks are usually too small. Too much filesystem overhead robs
you of storage space unless you just dd to the raw device.
