There are two ways I know of that you could consider:
1. Make PostScript, and use "ps2pdf" which is part of "gs" and "gs-aladdin".
2. Make PDF directly from (La)TeX. Use the "hyperref" package to make
hyperlinks, and use "pdflatex" to make PDF.
