Of course, he has the link
   ln -s psaux /dev/mouse
Other than the "append" line, my file XF86Config and gpm.conf are identical to 
the  reply above).


While I have never used it, the following is a nice graphical mouse setting 
tool found in xbase,
   /usr/X11R6/bin/xmseconfig
