Configuring X



Since I've been told this might help out others in the group...
This is what I get when I type startx

[bunch of stuff scrolls by and then the screen blanks out for a second
and then the screen says]

mylinuxpromt:

i've configured things by using XF86Setup since I can't call the config
file by typing it.  For card I select Unsupported VGA compatible (since
I do not know what kind of card it is- except that it is VGA, EGA(?),
PGA(?) from my boot screen). For monitor Standard VGA, 640x480 @ 60 Hz.
Modeselection 640x480.

Mouse and keyboard no problem.
