Sendmail 8.9.1 upgrade database problem
hi Guys.
While trying to fix some other problems on my Alpha, I upgraded to
Sendmail 8.9.1-15 and saw the message:
"The format of sendmails databases has changed (now using libdb2)."
"You *MUST* update your databases (newaliases, users, etc.)"
"before allowing sendmail to restart."
i use virtusertable.db files, and i thought this would be easy, but i found
that "makemap -v dbm" is "not supported" and that all hash tables are now
unreadable in /var/log/mail.warn. my "text" based databases also give "554
rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50), ruleset 3" when addressing the virtual
users, and now i also get "sendmail: unimplemented OSF mmap flags 0201"
constantly, although that error does not seem to be impacting mail delivery.
however, all my virtual users are in limbo and i look more stupid than
usual. any help anywhere? much appreciated
