dselect - sort by date to find newest releases

I would find it rather useful to be able to sort all packages by the date
that they were added to the archives/created/whatever works best.  As the
existance of www.freshmeat.net shows, it's nice to know what's new.  I'm
guessing this will require a modification of the .deb format ?  Or is this
info already in there ?
