How about dselect?  I find it adequate (though I seem to have a
reasonably high tolerance for learning obscure key sequences, being
editor-bilingual ;-)

When APT is ready for release, it will provide similar functionality
in a much more usable tool.

IMO a Web browser is The Wrong Tool for a job like this.  (What does
that "Install It!" button do, and how do you do it securely when any
machine on the network can get at your Web server?)
