2. HOW TO SPECIFY WHAT RESOURCES TO USE FOR NIS:

  2.1 FOR LIBC6:

      Check your /etc/nsswitch.conf file and make sure that the entries for
      passwd, group, shadow and netgroup look like this:

      passwd:   compat
      group:    compat
      shadow:   compat
      netgroup: nis db files


And I have updated to libc6 after installing with libc5.
