now winnt doesn't use drivers anymore or what ?
most of the time you will have to shutdown once to put the hardware then
install the drivers then reboot again.

in linux most of the time you have only to shutdown to insert the hardware
after that the modules are your friend....

at least with dselect i know *exactly* what has been written were, that was only
what *I* choose where *I* choose (I often do you see: you can choose the
destination, but if you choose something else than Program Files, we don't
guarantee....)
i can unload software easily and precisely, no left files, etc...
So like always M$ products are good to hide things and just put some nice
bargraphs telling you it is installing....
it's probably ok for novices.
not for advanced users i think.
