building pine 4

I've been trying to get pine 4.05 to build for a couple weeks now, and
have gotten pretty close. The only thing stopping the build is pico, which
gives this out as it builds:

Making Pico and Pilot

Has anyone gotten pine 4 to build? I'd really like to upgrade.
