Debian in Beowulf Multiprocessor

Has anyone got experience using Debian linux in a Beowulf architecture parallel computer.  I am interested in setting up a small experimental 
system before going larger.  I have Debian linux, but the sites I found 
describe their Beowulf systems as running Red Hat Linux 5.0/5.1

Any help will be most appreciated
