Umm...It might.  ;^)

Run modconf as root, and see if you can find the module appropriate for
your card somewhere in the list of network devices.  That should be all
you need to do, unless you've got something funky like a PnP card.  I only
have experience with 3COM 3c509 and 3c503 cards, but they were really easy
to setup.

If you don't have the appropriate kernel module available on your system,
you'll need to rebuild your kernel to include support for it.  That's not
hard, assuming your card is supported at all.
