older version (bo?) of X?

*sigh*

X was finally behaving itself, even for a couple of weeks.  But no 
longer :(

A busy netscape (something i hadn't done) or rvplayer can bring down X, 
hard.  Hard enough that it does the blink-screen-dance.

WHile i can still telnet in to kill X, i have to reboot before running 
it again.

Is there an archive where i can jump back to about three months ago? or 
even to bo?  This flatly wasn't a problem two months ago, and appeared 
immedeiately after an upgrade of X.  And now it's back on a clean 
install of hamm.
