Printing crash

I'm running 2.0.34, and trying to print to a HP Laserjet 4L. I had the
printing system up and working perfectly, until I installed the
lyx_0_12_0_final-0_1.deb package. Now, any program trying to access LPD
outputs the following to stderr:

: lp: getconnection: bad port number for LPD connection!
:check 'lpd-port' in configuration file, or the
:/etc/services file for a missing 'printer 515/tcp' entry - No such file
or :directory
:Host 'localhost' - cannot open connection to `lp@localhost' - No such
file or :directory

I'm not on a network, so there is no /etc/services file, and 'lpd port'
in lpd.conf doesn't work when set to 'printer', 'lp', or 'dj'.

Any help would really be appreciated.
