Thank you but this don't work for me.
I'm having 4 xmailbox that check 4 mail account on /var/spool/mail/...
mounted with NFS from remote hosts but none of them play a sound :-(
I'm launching this with a script of the form:
( xmailbox -geometry ... -file ... -n "user@host" ) &
