Lowmem laptop installation

Following the successful installation of v2.0 on an 8MB desktop, I've
been attempting to do a low memory install on a 4MB IBM Ambra BAM2401
486sx sub-notebook (170MB HD). Despite playing with endless changes to
the BIOS and power management, I am unable to activate the swap
partition after initializing it (I create a 2MB Minix partition, a 16MB
swap partition and the rest, 145MB, I have as a single bootable Linux
native partition). On attempting to activate the swap I get the error:
"Device or resource busy". Switching into the console I checked that the
mkswap had been done and again the swapon failed. the /etc/fstab file
does not list the swap device (I tried adding it manually but I don't
know how to tell linux to re-read the file). Does anyone have any
suggestions of what else I might try?

	Thanks,

		Simon
