cleaning up
I've been running debian on a certain system since about v0.93 or so;
It's a great system and I've loved beinga ble to just keep upgrading it wihtout
having to go in for long downtimes.
However, I now have some packages listed int eh Obslete section that I think should
be gotten rid of, but I'm kind of scared to touch 'em... for instance..
------- Obsolete/local Required packages in section base -------
*** Req base base 1.1.0-14 <none>
----- Obsolete/local Optional packages -----
------- Obsolete/local Optional packages in section devel -------
*** Opt devel libpam 0.50-1 <none>
------- Obsolete/local Optional packages in section net -------
*** Opt net xntp 3.5f-4 <none>
----- Obsolete/local Extra packages -----
------- Obsolete/local Extra packages in section admin -------
*** Xtr admin npasswd_boul 1.2.2-1 <none>
------- Obsolete/local Extra packages in section devel -------
*** Xtr devel aout-librl 2.0.3-4 <none>
*** Xtr devel slang-lib 0.99.23-1 <none>
can I remove the 'base' package? it claims to be obsolete, and contains
mostly /dev/* and the root dir structure... and the others? which are
safely removable?
All help appreciated...
