I don't know. I packaged this particular version (as an unofficial debian
package) and everything went smoothly during building the package.
As I don't know much about building a debian package, I just took the
upstream source, applied the changes the packagemaintainer did for version
2.1 and build the package.
I tried it and it worked. Doesn't it work for you?
After that I packaged a glibc version and it says:
Package: xisp
[...]
Version: 2.3p4-0.1
Depends: libc6, xforms0.86 (>= 0.86-2), xlib6g (>= 3.3-5), xpm4g (>= 3.4j-0)
Recommends: ppp (>= 2.2.0f-1)
It is a shame, that the xisp package is so out of date. Version 2.1 in Hamm
has some I/O bugs in it and the upstream author advices not to use it at
all.
I planned to take over the debian xisp package, but never got enough time.
This has changed, so I will check the documentation about debian-packages
and how to become a debian package maintainer and will give it another
try.
Most likely the new *real* package won't lack dependencies :-)
Ciao,
Martin
