You are using wget, aren't you? ;-) Well, the syntax is rather simple:
fpt_proxy=full_server_name:port
http_proxy=full_server_name:port

Imagine that there is a ftp and http proxy "proxy.utc.sk" and the proxy
port is 3128 (they are using the Squid cache). Then it will be as:

ftp_proxy=proxy.utc.sk:3128
http_proxy=proxy.utc.sk:3128

That's all the trick.
