NIC card for Debian/Linux

Hi,

  I'm thinking to get a ethernet card for my PC (PCI) and I'd like
  to know which is a better supported NIC card for Debian/Linux.
  I'm interested in getting 10/100 Base-T card.

  Secondly, please show me how to configure the kernel/software to
  make use of the NIC card.  Thank in advance!
