I have kernel 2.0.32 on debian 1.3.1 (pure bo) and no problems with
irqtune 0.6. I know that irqtune is default compiled for kernel version
1.0.0 but it should run (check README).

Check or/and send output of: 
   /Your_irqtune_path/irqtune -e 2>&1 >irqtune.otput
