route shows all the routes your system will use to route packets,  and
ifconfig shows the communications devices (ethernet cards,  ppp links,
etc.) that the system is currently recognizing.

They're in /sbin/,  which likely isn't in your path,  so you'll have to
run them as /sbin/ifconfig and /sbin/route.
