I don't know if it's the same problem, but when I installed GNAT (GNU Ada
Translator)
on Debian 1.2.8, I got the same message. Removing GNAT fixed the problem.
Not caring
greatly about ADA (just experimenting), I didn't try to discover what aspect
of the
GNAT installation broke GCC. Hope this helps.
