hi there
i made these changes in the /etc/smail/directors file. i commented
out the lists and replaced it as below (the lists are for smails use).
Then add in the aliasinclude for majordomo.

#driver=forwardfile, sender_okay, owner=owner-$user,
#caution, nobody;
#file=lists/${lc:user}
lists:
driver=forwardfile,
sender_okay,
caution,
nobody,
owner=owner-$user;
file=lists/${lc:user}
# added for majordomo (Dec 12 96) (stupid fuckin thing)
aliasinclude:
driver=aliasinclude, nobody;
copysecure, copyowners
