Installing a generic PCI network card
I had a 16 bit NE2000 card in my desktop. - An AMD 166 based computer.
Since I wanted to add a third system (using a 486) I replaced the 16 bit
NIC
with a PCI NE2000.
So I go to recompile in the PCI NE2000 into the Linux on the AMD
computer.
During make config, I pick PCI. Well linux would not see the PCI card.
I finally told it I had other ISA NE2000 and LINUX saw it (Just like
before)
except that IRQ and base address changed.
Why is it being used as a 16 bit card. Or is it running as a 32 bit ?
