inbound ppp
Hi!
I'm trying to set up an inbound ppp connection, but to no avail.
I have the modem in ttyS2, the machine is named bbs, and these are
my config files that I've changed:
===options.ttyS2===
#.201 is the serial line and .27 is the host
147.83.61.201:147.83.61.27
===
===options=== (which are set)
dns-addr 147.83.61.17
dns-addr 147.83.2.3
asyncmap 0
crtscts
lock
modem
netmask 255.255.255.0
domain upc.es
proxyarp
lcp-echo-interval 30
lcp-echo-failure 4
===
===pap-secrets===
# INBOUND connections
# Every regular user can use PPP and has to use passwords from /etc/passwd
* * ""
===
===mgetty/login.config=== i've taken out the auth until I get ppp working
/AutoPPP/ - - /usr/sbin/pppd
===
===inittab===
s2:23:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -D ttyS2
===
And now, my problem. Set this way, my w95 machine gets the hosts
IP address (.27). Obviously, this doesn't work very well.
If I switch the numbers in options.ttyS2, W95 gets the right
number, but then the route tables are badly formed. This is the routing
table for the w95 machine (10.0.1.10 is a local IP)
Active Routes:
