please help: olvwm and openwin-menu

Hi Everyone,

I just downloaded and installed olvwm. The
good news is that it seems I have finally 
found a window manager that I like :-) 
The bad news is that I can't get it to read the
menu definition file :-(

The system-wide file exists as /etc/X11/olvwm/openwin-menu
and my customization file is ~/.openwin-menu - neither
of which seems to get read in, neither at startup nor on
a file change. Declaring and exporting the variable OLWMMENU
so that it points at either of the menu definition files doesn't
do the trick either.

Any hints would be seriously appreciated - I can't
think of anything to try next...
