X on a CL 5428 chipset

Has anyone gotten X working using on a Cirrus Logic 5428 Video
card/chip. When trying to run it, it crashed my machine, no matter what
resolution, RAMDAC setting, nothing helped. Any info would be greatly
appreciated. TIA
